Bitbucket Data Center

Overview

This integration is available as part of the Managed Scans enterprise feature, enabling organizations to offload the scanning of code repositories to HoundDog.ai based on their preferred scan frequency (e.g., daily or weekly).

Prerequisites

In order to integrate HoundDog.ai with your Bitbucket Data Center, the HoundDog.ai Broker must be installed and configured in your on-premises environment. Once the broker is connected, users can import the code repositories they wish to scan, and the findings will appear in the HoundDog.ai Cloud Platform.

Locating Bitbucket Data Center

Once the broker is set up, it automatically connects to the HoundDog.ai Cloud Platform to create a new Source Code Manager (SCM) for Bitbucket Data Center.

To access it, navigate to Settings > Source Code Managers on the HoundDog.ai dashboard.

Importing Repositories

To import repositories from Bitbucket Data Center, click Sync Repositories as shown below.

When synchronization is complete, all repositories will appear in the HoundDog.ai Cloud Platform. You can import all repositories at once by selecting Select all repositories across all pages, or pick specific ones using the checkboxes. After making your selection, click Configure Managed Scan to enable managed scanning for the chosen repositories.

Managed Scans

HoundDog.ai’s managed scanning process aligns with industry-leading SAST tools such as Snyk, Veracode, Checkmarx, and Semgrep, while maintaining the highest standards for data protection.

HoundDog.ai uses AWS S3 to store the minimal amount of source code required for scanning and retains it only for the shortest duration defined by the cloud provider’s storage lifecycle policy. Scanning is performed in ephemeral containers running on AWS ECS Fargate, ensuring both security and efficiency.
